Newton Aycliffe brothers, Jake and Isaac Mendelsohn, are doing some sponsored events in September to raise money for both Alzheimer’s and Brain Tumour Research.
On 8 September Jake, age 15, will take part in the Great North Run 5K and Isaac, age 10, will take part in the Great North Run Junior 4K in Newcastle.
Later in September they are planning to do a sponsored swim at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre, hoping to complete a mile (66 lengths) in an hour. Both charities are close to their hearts as their grandfather has Alzheimer’s and family friend Anna Swabey had a terminal brain tumour.
