Due to the low turn out of Legion members to the Branch meetings on the first Sunday of each month at the Working Men’s Club Newton Aycliffe, Branch Secretary Royston Pape is appealing for better support to keep the branch alive.
He particularly wants members who would like to take up positions on the Branch Committee, but out of all the members there has not been anyone in touch with the Branch Secretary with any interest in the RBL Newton Aycliffe Branch.
It has been decided by the Northumbria-Tyne and Wear County Office Royal British Legion to hold a Special Meeting, on a date to be given later, when an Officer from the County office can attend. That date will be published in Newton News and it is hoped that Members will attend the meeting.
