Eldon Financial Planning Ltd is a multi award winning small firm well known on the national stage for their expertise and professional service.  Founded in 2003 from the amalgamation of two businesses, they have built their reputation on their strong technical knowledge and use of the latest integrated technology which help clients to ‘see into the future’. Eldon is now well established on the Park, shortlisted for the past 2 years in the “service” category of the awards. Following the retirement of founding Director Joss Harwood after a career spanning 40 years they are looking forward to future growth with the addition of two young graduates; Adam Kinsley and James Hunt who are both keen to progress to Chartered Financial Planner status. Both Adam and James graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2015, gaining honours degrees in International Banking and Finance. They wanted to work in financial services and were fortunate in gaining employment almost straight away.

James initially joined another local firm and Adam was offered a place by Eldon as a graduate trainee. James and Adam started working towards their professional qualifications; a process that normally takes several years but they are both progressing quickly. Adam said, “I saw that I could use my technical knowledge to help people financially plan their lives so that they can concentrate on enjoying themselves. I also saw that at Eldon, clients always come first and that the staff are highly principled”. James said, “After spending 18 months in my first firm, I realised that I want to work for a company that undertakes financial planning on a holistic basis and after meeting with Directors Tony and Gemma, my mind was made up that Eldon was the company I was searching for”. Adam and James are now established members of the technical planning team, attending client meetings, preparing reports and undertaking research. They both aspire to become Chartered Financial Planners. Outside of work both men lead active lifestyles, being members of a gym and undertaking sporting challenges.

Adam enjoys going to music festivals in the summer whilst James loves riding his motorbike and hopes to one day ride round the rural roads of Europe. Joss Harwood commented that in firms like Eldon financial planners tend to be in their fifties, and that Eldon is unusual in already having three Chartered Fianncial Planners in their thirties, a team very soon to be boosted by Adam and James. “What this means for our clients in that the continuity is there. Joss Harwood commented. “We always say that financial planning is for a lifetime, and time is the most important ingredient. Having young Planners here gives reassurance to our clients that we will be there for them for many years to come”  I am happy to be leaving the business in safe hands”.
