Dear Sir, Councillors E. Adam and K. Hopper talk about priorities, but what are they! Are they respecting the concerns of local residents over the bridge connecting Whinlatter Place and Linden Place? It needs to be replaced as it is a right of way and it is the responsibility of Durham County Council to maintain these bridges and repair or replace them for the safety of residents. Can I suggest what was said at meetings that instead of door knocking do what you are elected to do – stand up and speak for the residents who voted for you! There has been so many meetings and discussions on this matter. The cost should be paid by Durham County Council, and not the ratepayers! Please do not tell us they have no money and please do not try to Blame the Government Cuts, How many more meetings have residents to attend and tell our County Councillors that the bridge must be replaced. Sorry but all the walking about, door knocking does not get jobs done and this is why we are suffering inattention in the West Ward. We have residents meetings for people to come and complain about what is happing or what is not happening and for information to be passed on and recorded and note the results. At the last meeting a request was made from resident about the state of the Burn and the safety of children playing in this area, Has this been taken to the powers to be?
West Ward Councillor,
Alderman George Gray
