Dear Sir,
My recent letter ‘Slow Boat From China’, was written to encompass the views of Messrs Clare, Scholl and Welsh.
Mr Welsh however, seems to think I was just needing advice on where to shop! I had mentioned that my weekly bill had gone up by some £20, and was blaming Brexit (the leave vote), he thinks all my problems will be solved if I shop at Aldi instead; He has however seemed to have missed out on some news bulletins where Brexit is being held responsible for all manner of maladies, not least of which is the one where the pound had it’s worst day since 1985 and plummeted by more than 10% against the dollar.
Who would want to be a politician at this moment is beyond me. The title carries with it disreputable tags such as lying, corruption, cheating and abuse of taxpayers money, and though it will never attract the title of ‘Work’, it does seem like an unenviable task right now.
What should be of more concern to Alistair P. G. Welsh, is will there be any ‘BR’, left, if Scotland and Wales get their way, will it then become ‘Exit’, and at the same time UKIP will simply become ‘IP’; While he procrastinates these possibilities I can relieve him of the duty of advising me where to shop, by pointing out that I have, at one time or another, used every supermarket chain in Britain, and on my frequent visits to Europe have availed myself of some twenty different chains, from the mighty Carrefour to the ‘small but good’, Cactus, in Luxembourg.
Tesco are without doubt right up there with the best, on service (from their very friendly staff) and price, their after sales service is second to none; and, if we leave, so might Aldi.
