It was all change in the village this weekend when high winds meant the Christmas Market which had been planned to be held at Cozy Coffee had to be moved indoors to the village hall. Cozy Coffee stayed open to provide refreshments as planned so no one had to miss out on their delicious bacon butties, cakes & mince pies! The event was considered a huge success despite the relocation and there has already been talk of “next time” so watch this space!
This was followed by our village light switch on later that evening. The lights were switched on by the youngest resident who came along, Marnie Swainston, who was very excited by the twinkling lights! Our tradition of carols around the tree was abandoned again because of the weather and we opted for the softer alternative of singing them in the hall whilst sipping warm mulled wine! It was lovely to see new faces and we hope they were made to feel welcome.
We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday 11th December for our Badapple Production of Farmer Scrooge’s (Yorkshire) Christ-mas Carol. This premiered at the end of November and it has received good reviews as expected. Tickets are £8 adults, £5 children/concessions and £20 for a family ticket (2+2). They can be bought in advance via www.badappletheatre.com or through our Facebook page www.facebook.com/braffertonvha. You can reserve tickets over the phone by calling 01325 312161 or 07710 478583 or you just turn up on the night and pay on the door. The performance will start at 7.30pm prompt with doors being open from 7pm.
Please remember to bring your own drinks and snacks as we will not be serving refreshments on the night. We will however be selling our festive raffle tickets, the proceeds of which go towards the general running and maintenance of the village hall and allow us to host community events throughout the year.
Badapple Theatre Company have a wonderful reputation and this is really shaping up to be a fabulous evening!
