People are being invited to have a go at bowling this summer. Sessions are being held at Barnard Castle Bowls Club, which meets within the beautiful grounds of Bowes Museum in County Durham, for anyone aged 16 or older.

The sessions are suitable for people with little or no experience and all equipment will be provided. Durham County Council is supporting the initiative as part of its commitment to promoting sport and healthy lifestyles. Victoria Lee, healthy lifestyle co-ordinator at Durham County Council, said: “This is a great opportunity to have a go at bowling, with a professional coach on hand to give expert tuition, and to meet new people. The Bowes Museum is a very tranquil setting to enjoy this popular activity.”

The sessions are running every Sunday, between 10am and 12  noon, from this Sunday (Aug 5) until September 2. The full 5-week course costs £10. For further information or to book a place people should contact Victoria Lee on 07584 141 202.
