Saturday 18th May 2019 10am – 4pm

Sedgefield Mediaeval Fayre is a FREE FAMILY EVENT on Saturday 18th May 2019 from 10am – 4pm. Escafeld Mediaeval Knights do battle on the village green while Escafeld and ACLE Living History provide a taste of life in mediaeval times. From Falconry Displays to fun fairs, a host of family entertainment awaits. The event held on Sedgefield Village Green and in Ceddesfeld Hall Park is sure to delight everyone.

At 10am the Flower Queen and attendants in a delightful horse drawn carriage lead a parade of local children dressed in the Greatest Showman costumes and showing off their circus skills. Mediaeval knights and Star Wars characters complete the ensemble. Everything from Coconut Shy to Bucking Bronco and circus skills sessions add to the host of stalls and shows in and out of the arena.

Entertainment includes Black Sheep and Durham Rams Morris Dancers, stiff competition in the Tug of War as teams go head to head and really get the crowds roaring. Want to enter a team – give us a ring!

The bus from the series Heartbeat will offer a scenic tour of the village too.

Ceddesfeld Hall and Park host displays, children’s entertainers, Walworth Falconry, games and challenges for teenagers. Morning coffees, breakfast rolls, delicious home-made lunches and an all day bar, all at very competitive prices are in Ceddesfeld Hall.

A fun fair and wide variety of stalls selling crafts, food and bric-a-brac add to the atmosphere.

The event is organised by Sedgefield Community Association.
