Jason Steele’s Big Club side look to continue their impressive cup form when they take on Pelton in the League Cup quarter-finals this weekend.
Aycliffe WMC, who play in the Durham and District Sunday League, beat West Auckland WMC in the County Cup last week and have been handed a trip to Stockton Hardwick in January.
But first they hope to book their place in the semi-finals of the League Cup this Sunday when they take on Pelton at Woodham Academy (December 8, 10.30am kick-off).
“It’s another big game for us but they’re all big games in this league,” said Boro ‘keeper Steele, 23, who this season teamed up with his old school, Woodham, hosting the Big Club’s games there.
“We’re doing well in the cups, which means we’re still playing catch-up in the league, where we’ve won three and lost three, but we’re hoping to win some silverware this season so Sunday’s game is really important to us – it’d be great to see some local support.”
