A Community Interest Company from County Durham has been nominated for a prestigious award that recognises small businesses up and down the country for their growth, creativity and commitment to their local communities.
Sedgefield School Sport Partnership CIC is nominated for the Mission Possible award for best social enterprise at The Small Awards.
From bricks and mortar retailers to innovation-led start-ups, social enterprise champions to supply line legends, businesses from across all sectors have a chance of awards glory at this year’s ceremony, including Sedgefield School Sport Partnership CIC. Sedgefield SSP provide an extensive range of innovative and inspiring programmes to schools in Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity with the mission of developing happy, healthy and successful young people. The range of programmes include, of note, PE Apprenticeships, a Mental Health and Wellbeing programme (Team Up), digital fitness resource (Fit for Life) and an Early Years Resource (Move with Max), in addition to PE teaching support, sports coaching and inspiring events. Sedgefield SSP aim to maximise physical activity as a tool to improve childrens physical health, mental health, social and employability skills.
Winners of The Small Awards will be crowned at an event at Marylebone’s historic St Mary’s church. There are eleven categories, all highlighting the vibrancy of the UK’s small business sector which turns over £1.9 trillion each year.
