Debbie and Alan created a seaside themed event for residents living at Bethany House on Wednesday 5th August. The sun parasols were decorated with bunting and balloons, our patio filled with sand, buckets and spades, a paddling pool, deck chairs, carpet grass and beach balls.

Car park music was kindly provided by Brian, who played the street organ, residents sang along to the tunes and they loved the different sounds the pipe organ made.

Lunch was fish & chip shop goodies followed by melon boats.

The residents, in their bedrooms, found the sensory jars interesting and fun and they enjoyed the seaside music and goodies.

A choice of activities were on offer during the day including sand art, pebble painting, seaside sensory jars, design your own post card and a knobbly knees competition, great fun had by all – we also celebrated two birthdays.

Whilst residents were eating cones of candy floss, popcorn, rainbow rice or ice-creams, Debbie and Alan relaxed for five minutes by the pool.
