Butterwick Hospice Care are inviting supporters old and new to bring along their four legged friends and put their best paw forward for charity .
A pleasant, fun-filled route has been devised, set in the idyllic surroundings of Hardwick Country Park for dogs and their owners to take part in our ‘Bark in the Park’ event.  The event will take place on Sunday 14th June commencing at 11am, and will cover a 3km route.
Activities, advice and stalls guaranteed to get tails wagging will run from 10am, when registration opens and owners can collect their “woofie goodie bag”. Entrants who pledge to have their dog sponsored for £50 plus will receive a special ‘Bark in the Park’ V.I.P. canvas bag of goodies.  Upon completion each dog will receive their own “dog tag” which can be attached to their collar as a lasting memento of this great event.
There will be show case activities and tricks from the County Durham based dog training company “Have a Good Dog” who will be able to advise on effective training methods, behaviour consultations as well as fun and agility displays. Other exhibitors include dog grooming, food balance and nutrition, specialist portrait dog photography, veterinary advice, and much more.
Entry is just £5 per dog and Butterwick Hospice request that entrants try to raise essential funds by raising sponsorship via family, friends and colleagues by giving your pooch a pound to complete the route and the opportunity to set up a “just giving page “. If you have any special stories about your treasured pet then include the details on your page along with a photograph.
This is a great opportunity for the whole family to enjoy the sights and sounds of your local lake and park with your canine companion. There are picnic areas available as well as on site café facilities to enjoy once you have completed the event.
Entrants must register in advance, to sign up please complete the registration form or complete the online registration at www.butterwick.org.uk/barkinthepark, alternatively ring Butterwick Hospice on 01388 603003 or e-mail lynnalbury@butterwick.org.uk.
