Last chance to buy tickets for the Rotary Club Charity Night at the British Legion on Tuesday 19th November at 7pm in aid of the Poppy Appeal and local charities.
One of the highlights of the night is a sponsored headshave of popular long serving Barlady Trish Reed who has received £600 in sponsorship. Originally from Shildon Trish moved to Aycliffe 22 years ago and is married to Paul. They have four children and two grandchildren. Trish is bored with her long hair and it will be shorn by her hairdresser friend and member of the Legion Club, Sam Tedder. Trish has changed the colour of her hair a few times, but now wants to change completely and the No. 1 shave will give her the opportunity to start again! Trish wishes to thank her brother Colin and all those who have sponsored her, She told Newton News  she has enjoyed her 12 years working behind the bar and always finds all the Legion club members kind and friendly.
The Charity Night will have three live acts, a grand raffle, bingo, dancing and a Pie & Peas supper for just £5. Tickets available behind the bar and from Newton Press offices. Tel: 300212 or 320901 after hours.
