As it was remembrance weekend, all our teams stood for a minute’s silence to remember the fallen, lest we forget.
Farringdon Detached 0 v Aycliffe U13 Eagles 7
Playing against a team who are level on points with us in the league and have always provided a competitive game, but it was the Eagles who dominated the game. Two first half goals from Kaiden and one from Olly and HT 0-3 to Aycliffe. The boys continued into the second half with goals from Kaiden, getting his hattrick from the penalty spot, Adam x 2, Hamza, as well as a clean sheet from the boys at the back Liam, Zac, Finn, Ellis plus Kian in goal, rounded off a superb performance from the team
Aycliffe U13 Girls 2 v Pools Youth Blue 2
A very scrappy game with very few clear chances. Hard to play against and break down this Pools team. The visitors took the lead but Aycliffe scored to level the game at HT 1-1. Aycliffe were dominating play for quite some time before eventually the perfect ball was played through the Pools defence and, with just the keeper to beat the ball, smashed into the back of the net for Aycliffe to take the lead. With about a minute to go, and the last attack of the game, Pools managed to score the equaliser, the girls were so disappointed but a draw was probably a fair result. MOTM: Faith, Goals: Demi Lee 2.
Spennymoor Town Girls 1 v Aycliffe U12 Angels Yellows 7
Two goals from Weeza and a reply from Spennymoor and the girls were just in front at HT 1-2. However, Aycliffe dominated the second half, adding 5 goals with no reply. A fine all-round performance with the girls relishing the attacking opportunities they were afforded.
Every girl had an effort at goal today, unlucky not to get a first goal for many of our players.
Goals from Weeza x3, Amy x3, Holly. POTM: Weeza, Gwynneth.
Aycliffe U12 Angels Blue 4 v Stockton Town 0
Aycliffe controlled this clash against a much-improved Stockton side who played some nice football, but didn’t create much. It took a while to make the game safe, but 3 goals in the last 10 minutes gave a good reflection of the balance of the match. Players star: Sophie, Coaches star: Daisy.
Aycliffe U11 Girls 3 v CLS Blacks 6
Unbeaten CLS were the visitors, the game began with our girls getting off to a flying start, with Peyton getting our first goal of the game with a fantastic strike on 6 minutes. This was closely followed by Hannah smashing in a second on 10 minutes. However, CLS scored before HT 2-1. Two quick goals took CLS into the lead before Peyton brought the game back level 3-3. But, another 3 goals from CLS took the game. Managers Star Player: Maddi V, Players Star Player: Peyton
Aycliffe U8 Wildcats v Boldon
Another entertaining game for the Wildcats. Elizabeth and Macy both scored twice in what was a competitive first half. Brooke and Erin defended brilliantly whilst Penny and Georgia were both looking to attack and cause Boldon problems. Aycliffe ran out winners.
Durham United 1 v Aycliffe Under 15 Girls 2
Under 15 girls celebrated their third straight 2-1 victory in a row away against a strong Durham United.
Aycliffe U23s 3 v Sunderland RCA 0
Despite 3 great chances in the first half, the game remained scoreless at HT 0-0. The visitors didn’t really trouble the Aycliffe keeper and it wasn’t long before we took a grip of the game. Goals from Murray, Maughan, Wintersgill and the 3 points were secured.
