CHRISTMAS CHOIR: The village hall choir is reforming in preparation for its Christmas carol concert. The choir would be delighted to see new members, so come along and join in rehearsals as they start on Sunday, October 6th, from 3-4pm in the village hall.
BABY SENSORY CLASSES: For parents and carers with babies up to 13 months, there is a sensory class at the village hall on Tuesdays at 10.30am.
CRAFT CLUB: For anyone interested in learning skills in basic knitting, sewing, quilting, card-making or baking, there is a craft club on Tuesday, October 8th and 22nd, at the village hall from 1-3pm. This month, the club is making Christmas goodies. Entry is £2 and includes refreshments. For details, call Kathy Round on 01325-315732.
WI MEETING: Aycliffe Village WI meets on Wednesday, October 23rd, in the village hall at 7.30pm, when Steve Owers will give a talk on Search and Rescue in County Durham. The challenge is for a Hallowe’en Treat. For details, call Sue Hindle on 01325-310421.
BREAKFAST CLUB: The next breakfast club takes place on Saturday, October 12th, at the village hall from 9am-noon, and will be sponsored by Hub Workspace. There will be bacon, egg or sausage buns on offer, as well as cups of tea or coffee. There will also be activities for children and a book stall. The club will also be taking bookings to see Santa in his grotto at the December breakfast club! Proceeds to the village hall.
HALLOWE’EN DISCO: The junior disco takes place this month on Thursday, October 31st, for Hallowe’en, from 6.30-8pm in the village hall. It will be a fancy dress event, so children are invited to dress up in their scariest costumes and come as ghosts, witches or ghouls; there will be a prize for the best outfit and the scariest lantern. Tickets on the door are £2.50. Older children will be able to watch a film in the committee room.
