Aycliffe Village is proud to announce the launch of its Jubilee DVD, which has been produced with funding from the AAP.

Keith Johnson, chairman of Great Aycliffe Village Hall Association, said that GAMP had provided £505.60 towards the cost of production.

He said: “The committee is very grateful to GAMP as the cost of producing the DVDs was very generously met via its small grants fund.”

The DVD which has been created by Ken and Pamela Fox, of Aycliffe Village, is an account to music of the Jubilee celebrations held on the village green in the summer.

It follows the brainstorming sessions of the committee set up to organise the day, as well as the preparations prior to the event such as putting up marquees on the green.

It also includes footage of the tree-planting ceremony, the Songs of Praise service held on the eve of the event and then the Jubilee day itself including breakfast at the village hall, the children in their commemorative T-shirts singing the National Anthem and the games and activities on the village green during the course of the day.

The DVD is of a high quality and a wonderful record of a truly memorable day.

Residents were treated to two viewing sessions at a recent launch evening at Aycliffe Village Hall where refreshments were served.

The DVDs are available free of charge (although any donations would be welcome) from Keith Johnson on 01325-314735.
