Work on site for the Aycliffe University Training College opposite Xcel Centre is going well; the steelwork is going up fast and they are on track for opening in September 2016.
On 25th November at the new Hitachi facility, from 4.30-6.30pm a parent/student event is arranged when families can find more about the UTC, meet the Founding Members (Hitachi, Gestamp Tallent and University of Sunderland) and see some of the technology to be used at the UTC.  Places need to be booked on UTC website: www.utcsouthdurham.org/news-and-events/events/
1st December is the deadline for applications for students in Year 10 and 12 in September 2016. Apply online or download an application form to email or post. Details: www.utcsouthdurham.org/apply/
Do you know anyone for whom this might be a fantastic next step in their education? You may have employees, colleagues, friends or relatives with teenage children.  Please let them know about the UTC so that they can decide for themselves. They need to be interested in STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).  Students currently in Years 9 and 11 (that’s 13-15 year olds) can apply for places this year.
