South West Durham Training continues to see an increased demand from young people looking to embark on their apprenticeship programmes.

With exciting regional projects imminent from the likes of Hitachi, it appears many more companies are also considering just how they invest in their workforce.

This of course is great news for the likes of SWDT who for the first time have decided to increase on their traditional September start. This will see 2 additional intakes being made in both January and March 2013.

The new intakes will span a number of programmes across SWDT’s core disciplines namely; Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance, Fabrication & Welding, as well as Toolmaking/ Machining.

Such programmes provide students a valuable, recognised vocational qualification whilst gaining first rate, hand’s on experience.

Monthly open evenings are currently being held allowing prospective learners and their families the opportunity to visit the new centre and learn more.

The engineering industry provides a very rewarding career for many in our region and, by talking to the trainers at SWDT, it’s possible to understand just how to embark on a new and exciting career within this field.

The events will take place at SW Durham Training, Aycliffe Business Park on the following dates: Wednesday 16th January, Wednesday 13th February, Thursday 14th March, Wednesday 17th April, Thursday 9th May, Wednesday 5th June and Thursday 4th July.

For recruitment advice or to book a place on any of these dates please call Kirsty Haden on 01325 313194 or email khaden@swdt.co.uk
