Over the weekends of 10/11th January 2015 and on 18th January 2015 several swimmers from Sedgefield 75 competed and triumphed again.
Peterlee ASC and Derwentside ASC had their last chance gala on 10/11 January to enable swimmers to have a “last chance” gaining N&D times. As a club we are proud that following amazing swims both before and during this gala we now have 7 swimmers who will compete at the Northumberland & Durham Championships.  Over the weekend at the event held at the Louisa Centre in Stanley we had 10 swimmers compete in a total of 32 races.  By the end of the weekend SD75SC swimmers had achieved 21 PBs, 10 gold medals, and 2 bronze medals.  A massive achievement for all the swimmers who have seen their training pay off.
The following Sunday 18 January many of those same swimmers were competing again.  At the Billingham time time trial 15 swimmers competed with two of them,  Leah Smith and Jonathan Jones, competing for the first time.
As usual the team were in tremendous form and they came away with 47 PB’s from 59 swims.  As this was a time trial and not a gala there were no medals, however Sedgefield scooped a huge number of 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
This weekend the club also had Hannah Featherstone competing at the Sunderland open meet. She had a fabulous meet & from 4 swims she got a new meet record in both the 100   & 200 freestyle & got gold in both the 100 & 200 backstroke.  The times swum by these dedicated swimmers shows that regular training and hard work achieves well deserved great results.
