Congratulations to Andrew Brown and Julie Bowtell on becoming this year’s Aycliffe Squash Club champions.
In a repeat of last year’s ladies’ final, Julie retained her title against Meryl Graham, this time in three comfortable games, richly deserving her win.
In the men’s final, Andrew faced last year’s runner up, Nick Hill, in a match of high quality squash and brutal rallying. Although Nick battled hard and almost edged the third game, Andrew also won in straight games, in a fine display of skill and power.
The Club runs two men’s teams and a ladies’ team in the Durham and Cleveland league as well as a ladies’ friendly team and would welcome interest from new players.
