Sainsbury’s in Newton Aycliffe, have nominated “Helping Hands” part of the award winning charity Lifeline Com-munity Action, as it’s new charity partner of the year.
The charity, based in Newton Aycliffe, serves the community by helping those in need or crisis. Saninsbury’s scheme enables customers and staff to nominate a local charity.  Three were shortlisted and invited to present to Sainsbury’s to select a suitable charity who would offer volunteers and fundraise for them.
Alwyn White a trustee of the charity said, “We are thrilled to be Sainsbury’s charity partner of the year and we look forward to working closely with them”.
Store Manager Glen Caygill says, “Over the past four years, our stores, depots and support centres have been partnering with local charities to make a positive difference to the community. Supporting local charities is all about working together, and we will be promoting “Helping Hands” in store, planning fundraising activities throughout the year.
We hope this starts a positive and effective relationship between Sainsbury’s and “Helping Hands”.
