The annual Darlington 10K, the 28th in its history, attracted more than 1800 runners. Conditions were ideal for running and the eventual winner, Marc Scott was only 36 seconds off the course record.
The outstanding Aycliffe runner was Floyd Jones, who not only took the V/50 prize but was also first home for the club and 50th overall in the time of 36:30. Newcomer to the club and keen to impress, Richard Wade, showed his brother Mark a clean pair of heels finishing 58th in 36:55 and Mark was 73rd in 37:38.
Martin Knox was next to cross the line, 307th in 44:01, followed by Robert Young 327th in 44:18, John Burnside 357th in 44:50, Dave Blewitt 327th in 44:46, Susan Cranswick 439th in 46:03, Jason Dixon 458th in 46:23, Steve Smith 483rd in 46:48, Paul Stretton 485th in 46:06, Michelle Jane 498th in 47:03, Sandra Collins 546th in 48:07, Michelle Zamir 555th in 48:15, Rob Nicholson 592nd in 48:47.
Trish Kay was 641st in 49:59, Gary Minns 664th in 49:36, Michael Brunskill 674th in 50:47, Michelle Dixon 685th in 50:17, Austin Donohue 689th in 50:55, Vivianne Pow 868th in 52:24 PB, Beverley Phillippo 1308th in 61:46, Carla Morton 1334th in 62:40, Susan Clark 1387th in 63:56, Yvonne Williams 1462nd in 66:26, and Craig Robinson 1562nd in 73:28.
