Two of our athletes competed in the London Marathon on 13th April. For Shelley McCormack it was her debut at the distance and she certainly made the most of the occasion in producing the time of 4hrs:1m:29s.
This is part of three challenges Shelley is doing to fundraise for Lupus UK. The other events being the Thunder Run and Swaledale Marathon. To donate follow the website address given at the end of this report.
Also running in the marathon was Michael O’Sullivan, veteran of many London Marathons and proved yet again he is still capable of turning out a good performance and finished in the excellent time of 4hrs:12m:29s.
The previous day, three club members did the Albert Park Run. Kelly Smith got yet another PB, finishing 37th in the time of 21:48. Peter Smith was first home, 14th in 20:05, followed by John Burnside, 31st in 21:04.
