Friday night Aycliffe Radio presenter, Nathan Abbott, conquered the London Marathon on Sunday 28th April to raise funds for ManHealth CIC. Nathan completed the run in the time of 4 hours 55 minutes, 53 seconds despite suffering with cramp from 15 miles in, and said that, despite the cramp it was an experience I will never forget, made all the better by raising £630 for ManHealth”.

The Aycliffe Radio presenter was keen to raise awareness for ManHealth, who will be launching a new group in Newton Aycliffe Youth & Community Centre on Monday 13th April from 6-8pm. Nathan would like to thank each and every one of his sponsor’s who’s logos were emblazoned on his shirt.

ManHealth run peer support groups for men with mental ill health. Currently running in Shildon, Barnard Castle, Spennymoor and Darlington the groups are run on a drop in basis where no referral is required.

The groups are open to men affected by depression and other mental health conditions to share information, friendship and support. All ManHealth groups are run by men with personal experience of depression.
