Aycliffe has started to get itself on the music map over the last year – it has an emerging young scene, rock, DJs, you name it and it seems to be happening in Aycliffe. We have had 3 Aycliffe bands on the radio, “Unplugged” who have been going in an ever changing line-up for a few years now, “White Vinyl” who have had a great year, from birth till radio debut, including one of the best live radio interviews I have heard from a young band. You can next see them at Planet Leisure on 1st March.
“The Unsound” have already been interviewed on the radio and now released their second single and will be recording another interview for the radio this weekend.
There is another emerging group from the town “Skyway Mile” who make their debut at Planet Leisure along with a duo from the town called “Shipmate”.
The room was bouncing and it was a great show by both bands with the audience well appreciating the great sounds created.
Aycliffe Young Talent Project, (AYTP) looks after the sound at Planet Leisure and helps Aycliffe artistes get the recognition they deserve. There is lots of great gigs coming up, the big one being Aycliffe Music Festive (Aycliffe Fest) planned for  the end of June.
This town will be well on the music map by then, so keep up with what’s happening, add “Aycliffe Music-Man” and “Aycliffe Fest” on facebook. If you have any music on at a venue and you want me to check it out get in touch.
