Shine Children’s Church & Community Choir was delighted to receive a community support grant from the Benevolent Committee of the Province of Durham for £1000.

Kevin Williams visited the choir and was very impressed with what was happening. He and fellow members, Robbie Davison, Godfrey Bennett and Dennis Townson, spent some time chatting with the team and the children. All children are supported and encouraged by each other as they meet every week to share their love of singing and performing.

Recently they were part of an evening to raise funds for a young boy named Richmond, in the Philippines, who requires ongoing expert medical treatment and this is just one example of how these young people Shine their light on others.

The choir has children from five years upwards and meets each week, it is free and inclusive to all and hopes to improve lighting within the hall it performs so that all children can perform on the stage and this money will be put towards that.

Shine Choir would like to give a special thank you to Aycliffe Lodge member, Robbie Davison, who has championed them from the start and encouraged the team greatly.
