For the second successive game in the Durham & District inter club triples league Aycliffe ran out winners to maintain their unbeaten record.
Having previously disposed of last year’s league winners they travelled to Durham and defeated a strong home side by the same score 5-0.
Best of the rinks was that of skip P Payne who were always in front and were winners by eight shots, but could have been more but for a late rally by the home side who scored five from the last three ends.
K Dunning won by seven despite being one shot down at the eighth end they proceeded to take nine shots from the next five ends to give themselves an unassailable lead.
D McDonald completed the rout but this was a much closer game the result being more or less decided on the last end. Final scores: D McDonald 13-10 M Barkess, P Payne 17-9 S Smith, K Dunning 14-7 A Pratt.
