Pat Poinen, Health Visitor in Newton Aycliffe retires at the end of August. She has worked in Newton Aycliffe with Bewick Crescent Surgery for the past 15 years. During her time in Newton Aycliffe, Pat has been involved in many aspects of healthcare initiatives serving her clients locally.
She has facilitated the Breast Feeding Cafe for many years and was involved in County Durham & Darlington NHS Trust in recently achieving UNICEF Baby Friendly Accreditation. This accreditation promotes breastfeeding in the County and offers support to parents in making informed choices about their baby and feeding choices.
Over the years Pat has worked with the Rotary Club to coordinate the delivery of Hampers to families at Christmas.  Pat would like to thank the Newton Aycliffe Rotary Club for their generosity and support over the years to our families.  “ I would like to personally thank Geoff Batchelor for co-ordinating this over many years. His colleagues have supported him, and they have also offered other help at other times when called upon to do so.”
Pat is holding a Farewell drop in at Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre on 27th August 2015 between 11.30am and 3.00pm. She would welcome her clients and their children, young and old to call in to have a cuppa and say goodbye.
