Newtonian Lewis Wing a talented footballer has signed a professional contract with Middlesbrough F.C.

Lewis attended Sugar Hill and Woodham Comprehensive followed by Durham 6th Form College where he studied Sports Science.

He started playing football from the age of 5 for newton Aycliffe Sports Club going on to play for Norton and Stockton as a junior.

His first senior club was Brandon while at College and working for Tesco’s in the evening. Lewis signed up for Tow Law and then Seaham Star for two years.He played for the Big Club on Sundays from the age of 17 to 19 enjoying games with his mates.

Shildon FC signed him in 2015 and he won “Northern League Young Player of the Year” for the season 2016-17 scoring a bag full of goals.

Lewis was scouted by Sunderland and Burnley, but it was Middlesbrough who offered him a contract.
