Newton Aycliffe footballer Chloe Ryan has just returned from a Half Term trip of a lifetime in Valencia representing England Schools FA Girls Under 15.
One of only two Northern based girls in the squad, Chloe, 14 and her team mates enjoyed a tour of the famous Mestalla Stadium, home of LA Liga’s Valencia, managed by Gary Neville.
The girls were joined on the trip by Rachel Yankey OBE, the Arsenal Ladies and former England International star who acted as mentor to the squad, helping with advice and encouragement.
The highlight of the trip was two matches against Valencia CF Under 15 Girls and Provincial side, Meslata.
The England Girls’ triumphed 2-0 and 7-0 with Chloe scoring two goals in the second match despite playing with a perforated eardrum caused on the outward flight! Up next for the ESFA girls are The Republic of Ireland on Sunday March 6 in a friendly at Bury FC’s Gigg Lane Ground.
