Commercial Expert Ltd are delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Whitaker as their new Advisory Board Member. The finance company, based in Aycliffe, offers alternative commercial finance solutions to business clients across the UK. The business has undergone steady growth and expansion since founded by local businessman Michael Coates in 2008.
Mark will assist in the development of a long term growth strategy focusing on existing clients and current and new business introducers. He will also support staff development and technical training in order to help maximise opportunities and devise bespoke solutions for clients.
Mark’s career in banking and finance began after joining Yorkshire Bank in 1981 and undertaking a wide variety of front line roles including traditional Branch Manager positions in Yorkshire and Oxfordshire. He went on to head up the Bank’s flagship corporate business centre in Leeds between 2000-04 and undertake a number of strategic projects for the parent company, National Australia Bank.
More recently, he headed up Santander’s commercial business centre in West Yorkshire and worked for Begbies Traynor, coordinating business development activity and providing goodwill Banking advice and support for the benefit of clients of key business introducers.
Mark currently provides advisory services to a number of businesses in Yorkshire and the North East, including a firm of accountants, a haulage company and a hotel management group. He has also been engaged by Atom Bank, based in Durham, in anticipation of them being granted a full banking licence later in 2015.
