Newtonian Reece McAllister has been crowned Thai Boxing’s “Top King World Champion” after winning the final in Hong Kong.
Reece started Thai Boxing at the age of 9 being born into the sport as his Dad was No. 1 in the UK.
In the first round in France Reece fought one of the favourites winning by a KO in the first round of the bout.
His second fight in the World Series Tournament was in Poland where he was up against a fighter from Hong Kong and again Reece beat him with a knock out in the first round.
This took him to the final in Hong Kong where he beat a Ukrainian fighter on points. To win the belt and title Reece was due to face an opponent from Russia who had beat a boxer from Thailand to reach the final.
However the Russian for some reason would not come out to fight so the hand of Reece was raised as champion.
He trains in Shildon with his father at Phoenix Thai Boxing Club. Anyone is welcome to join this popular Gym of champions with classes every day.
Reece needs support for his international career and he would be delighted if a sponsor came forward.
