Newton Aycliffe FC return to action next week as they prepare for the new season. The undoubted highlight of a busy pre-season schedule is the welcome visit of Darlington, on Wednesday 12 July. Kick off at Moore Lane is 7:00pm with admission £5 adults, £3 concessions, £2 under 16’s with accompanied under 12’s free. There will be some new faces in the Newtonian side this season, including Craig Hutchinson who  scored an incredible 51 league goals for Billingham Town last season. He will be joined by Andrew Grant-Soulsby, Paul Weldon, Jamie Davis and Connor Hood who replace the departing Jamie Owens, Ben Wood & Ben Trotter.

Thirteen of the players who were with the club last year have re-signed. The first pre-season friendly is at home to Darlington RA on Monday 10 July, kick off 7:30pm. After the Quakers on the Wednesday Aycliffe then welcome Northallerton Town to Moore Lane on Saturday 15 July for the annual Frank Swinburne Memorial Trophy fixture. Played in memory of a popular committee member who once completed a fundraising walk from Aycliffe to Northallerton this game is always an important part of our preparations for the new season and joint managers Danny Mellanby and Deano Browne will be keen to retain the trophy. Kick off is 3pm.
