Back in July, KDANZ performed at the Gala Theatre in Durham, not only was the theatre SOLD OUT! but the show was a huge success, with the audience travelling the globe to come and watch.
Supporters and past members came from Leicester, London, Scotland and even Singapore to enjoy seeing their loved ones dance in such an amazing show.
The story of Alice was told through an original script written jointly by mum Rowena Gilchrist, ex West End performer and daughter and principal director of KDANZ, Kay Thompson. The dances were dynamic and exciting, with every participant performing with vitality and enthusiasm.  Pupils from 2 – 52 of all abilities enjoyed the wonderful experience of performing in such a lovely theatre.
But after such a brilliant show and a fantastic 22 game performance schedule at Durham Wildcats, topping this would seem to be a very difficult task, until Kdanz received an invitation to perform at the one and only Royal Albert Hall in London in May 2014!
Kay commented, ‘I am so proud of everyone at KDANZ for their efforts towards our Wonderland Show and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved.  This opportunity to dance at the Royal Albert Hall is a dream come true!’
With a new timetable and registration night being held on Thursday 12th September 6pm at the Youth Centre, the KDANZ team certainly have their work cut out.
You can see the KDANZ’ Elite crew, Extreme crew and Excite crew at every home game of Durham Wildcats at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre. November sees them headline a performance at Darlington Football Club and February brings a pre-game and half time performance at Middlesbrough Football Club.
