Newton Aycliffe Cricket Club’s first team sponsored by Lift Right Fork Lift Training played their inaugural match in the NYSD league when they entertained Yarm 2nd team in their third division match and topped off an historic day for the club by winning the game by 77 runs.

In reply opening bowler Michael Howe (3 for 30) got Aycliffe off to a great start removing the first three Yarm batsmen with only 19 runs on the board.
The visitors staged a bit of a fight back until left arm spinner bowler Luke Telford was brought into the attack and the Aycliffe all rounder took four wickets for just 32 runs during his lengthy 14.1 over spell, which helped dismiss Yarm for 114 after 41.1 overs.
