The committee of Churches Together in Great Aycliffe (C of E; Methodist; Harvest Church; RC Church; Xcel Church) met on Wednesday 16th December in St. Clare’s church hall to make a donation to the Aycliffe Foodbank and the Family Help charity. The Family Help charity offers safe accommodation for ladies and their children who are victims of domestic and sexual abuse. The ladies refuge is based in Darlington and accommodates ladies from the local area.
Representatives from Wilkinsons also attended and presented Ernie and June Temple with boxes of chocolates, selection boxes, etc., which had been donated by their staff and customers.  Foodbanks are not allowed to buy luxury items like chocolates so these are a very welcome item for the Foodbank at this time of the year. In addition to the very successful in store collection at Tesco, representatives from Tesco presented food and chocolates to the Foodbank.
