Published author Andrew John Bell has lived in Newton Aycliffe all his life. He attended St. Francis Junior’s then Greenfield Comprehensive School where English creative writing was one of his favourite classes. He graduated in 2004. Andrew originally left school to become a music teacher but left University after the tragic death of a friend on the course. He joined his friends in a Rock Band and toured the country for a few years.

Andrew later gave professional care for people with Dementia at Lindisfarne Care Home for 8 years before leaving to work at PWS, which now allows him to spend more time with his wife and two young daughters 6 and 10 months old.

He plays both guitar and piano in his spare time, and aims to promote Dementia awareness via social media.

Andrew released a short poetic piece available on Amazon called ‘Where Has Grandpa Murray Gone’ in relation to this cruel illness. He turned to writing as a form of escapism and decided last year to turn this hobby into a reality by self publishing his debut novel “Cerebrante: The Sacred Balance” which is the first book of a fantasy trilogy, available on E-book and Paperback format at Amazon.co.uk.

“My ambition is to become a recognised author and perhaps one day have my books adapted for cinema release. I have already received a very good response to ‘The Sacred Balance’ and aim to have “Cerebrante Book Two: The Forgotten Guardian” available to buy on Amazon before the end of spring this year.” said Andrew.

“My writing has been influenced by J.R.R Tolkien, Wilbur Smith and Dan Brown” added Andrew.

“Cerebrante: The Sacred Balance” is primarily a fantasy novel with aspects of suspense, adventure and redemption; it follows the perilous quest of an exiled princess named Cara and her young daughter Sophilia, who are the only hope their world has in ending the tyrannical Queen Cera’s evil plan to reign eternally.
