An exhibition of art by Newton Aycliffe based painter Stephen Bainbridge will be on show at Locomotion: The National Railway Museum at Shildon from Tuesday June 7 to Thursday June 30, 2016.
Stephen has worked in the acrylic medium for 40 years, initially developing techniques under the tutelage of the professional artist Noel Gregory.
His pictures often reflect his lifelong passion for the days of steam railways, especially featuring locomotives of the LNER, but he has also produced works of other technical subjects and landscapes.
His paintings have also featured in magazines and have been used in historical text books. In his works he always aims to produce paintings that are detailed and technically accurate, while portraying the atmosphere of the days of steam.
The exhibition of Stephen’s work will be on display in the museum’s Collection Building. The museum is open daily from 10am to 5pm, and parking and admission are free of charge. For more information, please call 01388 777999.
