Judith Porter completed the Durham Clamber on the 27 July. She completed the course in 1:47:00 and claimed the first prize for her category of female over sixty. Two club runners participated in the Worstead 5 mile race in Norfolk on the 29 July. Peter Milburn came home in a time of 31.39. He came 26th out of 357 runners and placed 1st in his category of male over 55. He was followed in by Sue Milburn, who on very little running completed the course in 41.08. On Sunday 31 July club runners participated in the Hamsterley Forest 10k. It was a very challenging course along trails, gravel footpaths and roads through the forest with three tough climbs, a couple of steep descents and stepping stones across the stream. Trish Kay was first back for Aycliffe in 53:15 and 5th female finisher overall, next was Mick Brunskill in 53:55 and then Susan Clark 1:08 and 1st in her category of female over 60. On Sunday 7 July club runners participated in Darlington 10k. First home for the club was George Dixon in 39.58. He was followed by Tom Porter in 40:12, Richard Campbell
in 40:14, Martyn Knox in 43:28, Stephen Smith in 44:08, Michelle Zamir in 44:16, John Burnside in 44:29, Rob Young in 44:39, Dave Blewitt in 45:39, Susan BlackburnRees in 46:36, John Young in 47:56, Sandra Collins in 48:17, Michael Brunskill in 49:47, Louise Wright in 49:47, Angela Barrett in 49.56, Dean Barclay in 50:56, Gary Minns in 52:04, Vivienne Pow in 53:11, Lisa Sheldon in 54:16, David Thompson in 56:34, Denise Evans in 57:35, Ian Barownski in 59:34, Kat Aspey in 1:02:45, Laura Knox in 1:02:48 and Susan Clark whose chip didn’t work, but she recorded 1 hour 2 minutes on her watch.
