National Apprenticeship week is a time when all eyes are on careers for young people. Aspire who are based in Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre are sponsoring an event on 4th March at the Youth & Community Centre from 9am – 1pm.
Companies as well as young people will be in attendance. and it’s all about raising the profile on apprenticeships amongst employers and individuals, from Newton Aycliffe and surrounding areas.
Kevin Stonehouse Area Manager for Aspire said, “We are a training provider and are running Traineeships from the Centre. These courses prepare young people for work. They get to understand a work ethic and gain the skills that will help them in the work place.”
“Companies need to realise great businesses are made by apprentices and apprenticeships lead to great prospects. We have up skilled over 500 young people and see first hand that these people want to work.”
“The cost to a company is helped by Government money. We as a training provider give them the qualifications needed to progress and look forward to meeting companies who want to offer apprenticeships.
Everyone is invited to the event to learn more and any business interested in taking on apprentices who can’t attend, please contact Andrew Longstaff on 07919 525560.
