In 2013 Woodham Academy secured a bid through the Improving Progression of Young People Team which was to fund an initiative to support young people at the school to successfully move on into Education, Employment or Training post 16. The school has worked with 6 students on the programme and many of them have had huge success.  When Paul Bradshaw was invited to become part of the cohort in June 2013, he had his heart set on becoming a mechanic.  Over the past two academic years Paul has been employed by Gregg Little Testing Centre in Newton Aycliffe.
This company has helped Paul realise his true potential and calling. Over the past two years Paul has learnt how to work well in a team, communicate effectively with colleagues and listen to others.  By the time he had reached the end of his first year, he was responsible for the ‘summer deals’. He has impressed the company so much that they have offered him an apprenticeship with them when he leaves Woodham Academy in June 2015. In 5 years time he sees himself as a fully-fledged member of the Gregg Little Testing Company team. His ultimate career goal is to own his own business.
