A very pleasant evening is planned in St Michael’s Church Heighington from 7 – 9pm on Saturday February 1st when this beautiful nine hundred year old church will be lit by candlelight.

Wine and refreshments will be served and gentle music played so you can relax and enjoy a pleasant evening among friends.

You will be amazed at the high jinks many local residents get up to when you view photographs of the ‘wild’ fancy dress party held when our previous Vicar retired – not for the faint hearted.

You may also be interested in exploring this wonderful church built in 1130 and its history – its rare pulpit installed in 1530, its connection to Cromwell’s Civil War, its association with the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, its links to our two lovely hotels – Redworth and Walworth and many other fascinating associations St Michael’s have been involved with over the centuries.

Cost of entry is a mere £5 which includes the wine, soft drinks and refreshments.

All of the money raised will go towards upgrading the lights in the church.

Tickets are available from Church Wardens and Ruth Lee 01325 314622 or pay at the door (but it will help us if tickets are bought).

So where ever you may live, young and old and old and young – all will be made welcome so join us to help make this relaxing evening an evening to remember – please do join us – thank you.
