Alopecia Support County Durham is a new support group for women aged 16 years and over who would like some support, advice and tips on living with the autoimmune disease.
We understand some of the effects that alopecia can have on sufferers, often feeling self-conscious, isolated, and depressed therefore the group provides a friendly atmosphere where members can come and talk to others who have been affected.
Group members can also receive tips and advice from wig and bandana makers, beauticians and tattoo artists, try relaxing massage tasters, take part in confidence building sessions and discuss the latest treatments and research.
Catriona Grime and Angie Cooke, the Group Founders, say: “We are very grateful to the Secret Millionaire and Galaxy Hot Chocolate for the funding they have provided to enable us to launch the group and ensure our first meeting in April is a huge success.”
The group which is endorsed by Alopecia UK will hold meetings bi-monthly at Pioneering Care Centre starting April 27th 7-9pm.  For more information please email alopeciafriendscodurham@outlook.com
