Dear Sir
I read the article Aldi Strict Parking Fines Face Criticism.
My I firstly say it is not a fine – it is an invoice for parking over the time allocated and my advice to anyone who receives such an invoice is to offer to pay what they believe to be a fair amount for the time they overstayed.
To be charged £70 or even £40, if paid within a given amount of time, is extortionate. May I also say that Aldi do not police their car park very well except for issuing parking invoices (fines) via a private company.
On the very rare occasions I have visited Aldi, cars are not parked in the appropriate bays but are left anywhere, even blocking vehicles getting in or out of parking bays or being able to negotiate the car park safely.
