Shildon Centrestage are now looking forward after last year’s enjoyable productions of All Greased Up and The Witches, which brought music, dance, and plenty of fun moments to the Shildon Civic Hall for the Theatrical Group.
We now have to move on from these superb shows and bring 2014 on in style. The group’s first presentation will take place at the end of May with their own take on ‘Treasure Island’, and as per usual the production will have the usual mix of laughter, drama and great music to suit everyone, young and old.
To help improve the production, the group are looking to recruit new members into the CentreStage family. So if you love to sing, dance or act, and would like to be part of a community theatrical group then come and join the fun. If being on the stage is a little bit scary to you, then working backstage and helping with putting the production together could well be your forte, there is more to a production than just the cast members.
Have you done drama before, maybe been part of the group before or been in one of our younger sister groups The Cats or Tearaways in years gone and really enjoyed the experience then why not give our group a go?
All we ask is that anyone interested should be over 18 years of age as we are an Adult Community Group, meeting at the Shildon Civic Hall on a Thursday Night.
The Director for the show, Andrew Timmiss who comes from Aycliffe says, “We had some really good fun doing last year’s shows, and we intend to do the same again. Our members come from Shildon, Aycliffe, Heighington, Chilton and Bishop Auckland and would love more from the local community to join and help the group grow and allow us to improve on what we did last year.”
So if you are interested in joining us for Treasure Island, then give us a ring on 01388 774838 or 01325 313363 and come to the Civic on Thursday nights and meet the Cast and Crew. We really look forward to meeting you, so don’t delay, give us a ring today.
