ACORN members would like to express our grateful thanks to everyone who has helped and supported us throughout the year.
The popular residents association and Neighbourhood watch group have had another very successful year and are already making plans for an even more eventful year to come with fun family entertainment for all.
Special thanks to our funders, The Big Lottery Fund and livin for their help and advice throughout 2013. Our Police for getting involved with the community and our Council and Councillors, without whom we would find it difficult to achieve all of our successes.
Little Acorns our junior group continue to grow and are pretty amazing in planning our events and activities.
2013 has been a very eventful year with the arrival of Horndale Residents who have thrown themselves into the community raising money for a MUGA pitch in just one year despite the recession, well done folks. I would like to see many more groups forming in the coming year. GAMP, too have been very busy supporting the local community and have helped many organisations through their efforts.
Grateful thanks also to Honest John for the work that he does to support groups in Newton Aycliffe including ACORN – Thanks John
Enormous thanks are offered to Syd Howarth at Newton Press for his herculean effort of pulling together various community organisations to form GACAP and his continued support for all of the Newton Aycliffe community.
GARA have been successful in their campaign to return a police presence into the town centre, which has been the fervent wish of many residents for a long time and last but definitely not least what a massive improvement there has been in our town centre and I for one can’t wait to see the finished effect.
Happy Christmas
Ken Robson (Chairman)
