Popular local Residents Association ACORN will be holding their February meeting in the upstairs lounge of the Phoenix Club on Thursday February 11th.
Beginning with the fun junior section little ACORNS at 5.30 pm where plans will be discussed for the coming year including the ever popular annual petting zoo and reflecting back on the exciting visit to the GALA theatre to see Cinderella.
At 6pm the main ACORN meeting begins where local issues are discussed. Meetings of ACORN are usually attended by interested community partners including Police, County Councillors, Town Councillors and representatives from livin.
Lively debate is encouraged but attacks on individuals prohibited, we seek to inform and encourage involvement in the society in which we live giving a voice to the public in an amusing interactive group.
ACORN are often found to be leading the way with protests and campaigning, also many of our members take part in training sessions such as first aid, food handling, governance and trusteeship.
ACORN are a very proactive group with events such as Easter egg hunts, Petting Zoo, animal inspired fun days, and parties for Halloween etc., already being planned for this year.
ACORN also arrange outings to educational establishments and seaside trips throughout the year.
ACORN events and outings are often featured on our Facebook page
We welcome new members to come along and get involved with our activities that are helping to build a more inclusive community.
