Following complaints that the barrier still exists between Aldi and Coffe Pronto Newton News again contacted Bryan Haldane the Town Centre Manager.
He said they were still resolving a Health & Safety issue, but it would be coming down soon to allow direct access from the multi storey car park into the Town Centre.
Observers in this area can’t help noticing another unnecessary barrier to pedestrians from Greenwell Road where there is a well laid and safe footpath at the back of Aldi which has been blocked.
It seems very easy to create this rather special pathway, which is of no use to anybody, while important access and footpaths are delayed.
