Dear Sir,
It is with deep regret that I have to inform you that the Aycliffe Alcohol, Recovery and Mutual Support group (AARMS) is closing.
With no new members coming forward and no room to meet up in, due to the Covid restrictions, we feel that closing the group is our only option. Any remaining funds are to be split between three local charities which are: Play Café, Junction 7 and Community Spirit.
We’d like to thank everyone who has allowed us to fundraise at their various events and also everyone who has donated to the group. Special thanks go to: Bewick Crescent Surgery, who carried our posters and leaflets, especially Dr. Ruth Lund who has supported our efforts right from day one;
Tesco, who provided a room for us free of charge;
John Pattinson, International Medium and his colleagues, who did two excellent charity nights on our behalf;
Saffron Broad at Love Thy Cupcake for providing a meeting place when the room at Tesco was unavailable and for storing our fundraising items.
Also, Paul Howell, John O’Sullivan, Nicola Williamson and Phil Hawkins for their help.
Best regards
Val Fawcett
