Northumbrian Water is offering Year 10 students from across the North East a chance to take part in a special week of activities to help them prepare for the world of work.
Students will spend time with people from a range of teams covering science, engineering, customer service, IT and marketing roles.
They will also visit water and wastewater treatment works to see key elements of the water cycle in action and learn about CVs and recruitment from members of the team.
Online applications are now open for the 30 spots available on the programme and the closing date is April 23, 2019. The week of experience will take place from Monday, July 15, to Friday, July 19, 2019 and will be based in Pity Me, Durham, with a working day of 9.30am to 3.30pm.
Sophie Carvin, Northumbrian Water’s NWG Academy Manager, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for students to get a taster of what goes on at Northumbrian Water and learn about some of the wide range of different jobs and activities that make up a successful utilities company.
“As well as working with our people, the students will work alongside people from other schools. The experience is aimed at giving young people meaningful insight into a range of career options, helping them to grow in confidence, whilst giving them a better understanding of what a working environment is like and what is expected.
“We are looking for young people who are reliable and hard working and who demonstrate in their applications that they are genuinely interested to learn all about Northumbrian Water and its customers.”
